History of ViscosityClothing.com: When this website was started, we had a great dropshipper that would dropship single items of designer clothing to my customers. During this time, we also bought end of the season closeouts, salvage, and department store / boutique overstock to sell directly on the site. By doing this, we were able to make very nice profit margins (100% or more). They discontinued their dropship program in Jan 2006. In Feb. of this year, we switched the site over to an affiliate shopping mall. We joined many online retailers affiliate programs and sent them web traffic from our site, when a customer on wwwViscosityClothing.com clicked on an affiliate product link and went to another site to buy, we collected a small percentage from each sale (usually 6-10% of the sale price).

Why are we selling ViscosityClothing.com?
Our website is a Yahoo Merchant Solutions Yahoo Store (for more about what that means, please see below). Unfortunately for us, yahoo has a policy in their terms of service forbidding any selling technique that bypasses their shopping cart. This includes the affiliate marketing and adsense advertising that we are currently doing on our site. We do not just want to shut our site down because it can be a great site for someone with inventory to sell. This is a very well established site that I have put a ton of work into for the last 4 years. It is currently making sales, is ranked and (partially) search engine optimized, listed in all major search engines and is getting very nice targeted traffic from ORGANIC search results. I have only spent a total of about $50 on paid advertising for the entire life of this site, so all the numbers you see above are from free search engine traffic. Technical Mumbo Jumbo: ViscosityClothing.com is a Yahoo Merchant Solutions Starter Store. In a nut shell, you are given everything you need to build your website, process orders, work with customers, advertise, and more in a very easy to use control panel. It is all web based, so you can check your orders, design your store, add products, etc. from any computer with an internet connection. Other Features:

1) Over 650 hand coded pages (no feeds).
2) Easily integrates with any merchant account (or PayPal account) to accept credit card payments. It takes about 10 minutes to set up.
3) The entire website design has been customized. Custom templates have been purchased for additional features such as an additional area for custom HTML on the navagation menu (the gray area on the site). Also, the item names on the product pages are typically rendered as a picture (.jpg) by the typical yahoo store software, we have edited this to show the item name as header text. This is great for search engine optimization practices. Custom description and keyword meta tags on a majority of the pages have been written (the rest have a “universal” meta tag for the site). Meta tags on all pages can be easily edited. Customized Page Titles for Search engines. Customized “Related Items” links. Custom Dyamic Breadcrumbs, etc.
